20XX is a platform adventure game in which intergalactic superhero Mega Man plays a starring role. As usual, the bad guys are trying to take over the world and bend people to their will, but fortunately Mega Man is here to save the day, one rather flat and dull platform style level at a time.
Get Your Mega Man On
People who grew up in the 90s are sure to remember Mega Man fondly, which is what the creators of 20XX are clearly counting on. Like most other platform games of this type, each level features a slightly different but basically almost identical theme and players need to jump, walk and shoot to find the bad guys and take them out as quickly as possible. Although there is really nothing much more to the game, there are plenty of Mega Man references to keep fans happy.
Blasting Off to Nowhere
Although fans of Mega Man are sure to want to check out 20XX, the instantly recognisable character is the game’s only really selling point. The rather strange game physics mean that it is often almost impossible to control the character as he zooms around the screen and as this is the main aim of the game it can be very frustrating. However, despite this and other flaws, the game manages to have a rather addictive quality that is likely to get many gamers hooked.
